Step 1: Sign up to LocalCoinSwap
Visit LocalCoinSwap and sign up for an account here. All that is needed to sign up is a username (of your choosing), a valid email address, and a password.
Step 2: Search for an advertisement
Use the search function at the top of the Sell page to see what other users are looking to purchase. You can search via cryptocurrency, fiat currency, payment method, location, or a combination of these. Once you see an advertisement for your desired currencies and payment method click the “Sell” button. This will take you to a page with more details about the advertisement and buyer.
Note: Different payment methods carry different risk profiles. Unlike some payment methods, the majority of cryptocurrency transactions are NOT reversible. Once you release the cryptocurrency to the buyer it is not possible to recover them. We recommend selling with low-risk payment methods to traders with a good reputation and a solid trade history.
Step 3: Initiate a trade
You will now see some more information relating to this advertisement including price, buyer statistics, and terms of trade. Enter in the amount that you wish to sell into the “I wish to sell” box in either fiat or cryptocurrency. It is very important to read the terms of trade before entering into a trade with a user. By clicking “Initiate Contract” you are agreeing to the conditions set by the buyer. If you do not agree to the conditions simply go back and browse through more advertisements.
Step 4: Receive payment and release the cryptocurrency
Now that you have initiated a trade, the buyer needs to accept the trade. Once they do you will need to fund the escrow and provide them with the details needed for them to make payment.
Once you have confirmed that you have received the payment, release the cryptocurrency from escrow by clicking"Yes, received payment from username".
Note: NEVER release the cryptocurrency from escrow if you have not received the payment. If you do, you will not be able to raise a dispute and there will be no way to get your cryptocurrency back if the buyer does not make the payment.
